I was asked this riddle over the IM and I started with age (luckily, my brain signals are working :-P) and then car after a few more clues, as the starting three letters. Being a seven letter word, I had an option to make 26 letter substitution for the words.
Therefore, I had the word as
car 'x' age (x -> unkwown)
ummm... I have passed on a clue, readers (though, there are a some corrections to the above word.)
Keep guessing, I'll post a comment later on what the answer is, if tasha doesn't.
