Reservations for Sons of the Soil
One very respected and well-informed person told me that all States in
In that case, we should also get reservations for our sons of the soil. Either that or no other State in
Makes sense doesn’t it? After all, all the States in
Mind you, I’m not at all supportive of reservation…I never have believed in it. But a law or rule ought to be the same for all under that particular jurisdiction.

Dat's really unbelieavable....Our Sons of Soil 'should' get reservation.....
wat is this son of soil.
Well, in the United States, for example, if you go to a public university outside your 'home' state, you have to pay out of state fees, which can be upto 3-4 times more. The rationale is that the students whose parents have paid taxes to the state for a while, deserve the services from the state more. Of course, this is not good for bright students from poor states where the universities are not as good. Not quite reservation, but a similar idea.
tasha first of all in Indian Constitution there is no phrase used as sons of soil or sumthin remotely similar to that. other thing as told by u that reservation for people who are of maharashtrian soil or for that matter of any state have reservation . According to Art. 14 there cannot be any reservation on the basis of caste color creed and sex.
reservation in favor of domicile is completely different.
i would suggest u to read commentries on Art 14 and 15 of constitution and political science to understand philosophy of reservation..
A positive Discrimination is needed bt ya again u can argue on that too endlessly
